Thanks for a great math night!

Reminders:
Save the date: We have the TBS Art Show coming up on Friday, March 23!

Thank you for a wonderful Math Night!
We appreciate that so many students and families came to Math Night. See below for some photos of fourth graders in Strawberry Creek sharing math with their families.

Fourth grade math
Purple group:
Our warm-up today focused on congruent figures, those with the same shape and size. Even if a figure has to be rotated or flipped, if it can be overlaid on the original figure and cover the same exact amount of space, it is congruent. Then we discussed our question of the day: What is a line of symmetry? Using triangle paper and pattern blocks, pairs of students played a game making figures with mirror symmetry. We finished class practicing finding lines of symmetry.

Blue Group: Today we practiced using protractors, learning to measure and draw angles in degrees. Students practiced using knowledge about degrees in a circle to determine the measure of reflex angles (angles larger than a half protractor can measure).
