Biography Writing: Some students are bringing home with biography folders to continue rewriting their biographies at home. We're hoping to have the final draft version finished and ready to go for the Biography Party on Thursday.

Thursday, April 4, 5:30-6:30pm: Biography essay and home project fair in the classroom.
Thursday, April 11: Sacramento Amtrak Field Trip: Strawberry Creek will be going to the California Train Museum in Sacramento as part of our Westward Movement study on Thursday, April 11, 2013. Please note the late return time from this trip as 5:00pm with pick up at the Berkeley Amtrak train station.
Math Club (from Sima):
In Math Club some of us revisited the truth & liars problem from last week, and thought about some new game show problems, involving strategy and/or probability. Other students worked on an assortment of puzzles, including geometry, arithmetic, and reasoning. Finally, a couple pairs of students played a game with positive and negative numbers, called First Connect 3, or the classic pattern finding game Set.
Oregon Trail:
Today students were divided into five different families for our Oregon Trail and Bound For Oregon study. Over the next few weeks, the family groups will work together to complete tasks, make decisions, and reach reading goals. After reading the first chapter, families worked together to compare things from "then" and "now".
