Today the Strawberry Creek students were assigned an activity to do at home that will involve an adult in the family to participate. The goal is to help reinforce or establish homework routines or strategies for the year. My experience in the past is that this assignment has been beneficial for a number of families in my classes, while for others homework routines are already well established. Regardless of where you fit in the spectrum, it does provide an opportunity for conversation about how it is going, and a window into what the kids in Strawberry Creek have said are their current routines and strategies. It is due on Monday.
