Math: Today the students were introduced to Decimal Dog, an interactive way to introduce how to read and write decimal numbers and evaluate place value. While the dog is difficult to see in the photos, he guarded the decimal point while students formed a decimal number read by another student and the rest of the class wrote the number on white boards.
Today in Strawberry Creek we started off West right away! Families were faced with decisions about baby names, night guards, and CHOLERA! During reading workshop we focused on reading chapter 11 of Bound For Oregon and making deeper connections.
After an afternoon of carpentry, knitting, and baking soda biscuits, students joined their buddies in Laurel Creek to make Rube Goldberg machines!
