Reading (20 minutes): Book Club book
Guinea Pigs: We have a few weeks still available for care over the summer. Please check the Volunteer site. Also, it would be helpful to have a few more bags of litter for the summer. Thanks.
Last Field Trip: Thursday, June 5 (7:45-4:30) Marshall Gold Discovery State Park, Coloma CA. We have an early departure of 8:00am (arrive at TBS by 7:50) and a late return of 4:30pm (traffic depending). We will explore and tour the town, visit the museum and Sutter's MIll, followed by panning for gold in the South Fork of the American River.
Bring: 2 snacks (for the car ride there and back), Lunch, swimsuit or shorts to get wet, towel, daypack, sunscreen, sun hat. . .
Waterthon on Friday: The walkathon of 2014. We will walk carrying our posters and art about trash in the ocean to and from the TBS Early Childhood Center. It is an all day event.
Engineering Olympics: Our finale for science and engineering! The students are revisiting the three design projects (golf ball retriever, solar oven & catapult) with a focus on meeting certain criteria. For example, the solar ovens are being judged on how fast the heat rises, the highest temperature reached, and how long they can store heat after being moved to the shade. The design teams collaborate to rethink their past work and develop a new or improved design.
